About Bundamba State Secondary College
Bundamba State Secondary College is a secondary college situated in Bundamba, Ipswich and located in the western education corridor of the Brisbane Metropolitan region. In 2024 Bundamba State Secondary College has an enrolment of approximately 891 students. A strength of our college is the inclusive and multi-cultural nature of our school, where we learn and grow in a culturally harmonious environment. We have a clear focus on learning and successful pathways beyond school to further learning, training or employment.
The curriculum offers a planned course of study from Years 7 - 12. Our school delivers the Australian Curriculum to Years 7 - 10, appropriately differentiated to each student's needs. The Senior School curriculum is a broad range of QCE General and Applied subjects, as well as a variety of VET courses to suit our diverse student needs. As a partner school in the WesTec Trade Training Centre, our students access industry standard training, courses and school-based apprenticeships. Located geographically close to TAFE South West, our students can combine school with vocational training through the TAFE in schools' program.
About the Role
As the Head of Department - Mathematics, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Leading and ensuring the alignment of the curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and moderation practices across the Mathematics faculty
- Leading the development, implementation and quality assurance of curriculum reforms including Version 9.0 Australian Curriculum and Senior Curricum revisions.
- Leading the capability development of staff to improve their pedagogical practice and foster high levels of classroom engagement.
- Collecting, analysing and interpreting data to improve student achievement and engagement with learning
- Forming partnerships with relevant networks and external organisations to drive innovation and provide pathway opportunities for students.
