About the Role

Malanda State High School is excited to recruit a Head of Department to lead our Mathematics and Science faculty in a temporary capacity. The ideal applicant will lead our teaching and learning improvement agenda in the Mathematics and Science areas, including whole school curriculum, pedagogy and engagement. This role encompasses the line management of teachers and support staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
