This is a temporary, full-time position for Term 1 of the 2025 school year, commencing 23 January until 4 April 2025, with the possibility of extension.

About the School

Burnside State High School is located in the township of Nambour on the Sunshine Coast.

The major focus of Burnside is relationships. We place a priority on quality relationships and this emphasis has provided the key ingredient for its outstanding success across all year levels.

About the Role

As the Head of Department - Languages, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Leading the International Program by complying with EQI policies and procedures to provide quality outcomes for all International students. This includes Study Abroad, Graduate and Study Tour students.
  • Understanding the legislation and policies that impact on International students and host families.
  • Working closely with the Home Stay coordinator to nurture partnerships with International students, host parents, agencies and community groups.
  • Maintain the long-term sister school arrangements Burnside SHS already has in place.
  • Leading the Languages faculty to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve the strategic direction of the school.
