About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and flexible educator to join the Lockyer District State High School leadership team in 2025, unless otherwise determined. In this role, you will lead and case manage up to two year levels within the Junior Secondary offerings at the school. Key roles are the case management of the year levels along with the Wellbeing Team with a view to improving student data particular attendance, behaviour and student engagement in the positive culture of the school. You will also be responsible for leading some curriculum initiatives.
Key aspects include:
- Lead the engagement and wellbeing strategy using the general capabilities, and supporting orientation and transition processes,
- Communicating and work with parents, staff and the broader community to develop strategies to improve learning outcomes, student achievements and attendance,
- Case managing students to improve their attendance,
- Enacting behaviour management strategies and leading, as part of a team, Tier 2 and Tier 3 (PBL) implementation,
- Leading a team to create new opportunities for students to lead and build their capability through school engagement,
- Contributing to the further development of a positive school culture, building of our wellbeing strategy and nurture positive relationships between students, school staff and the community.
As an instructional leader, you will be focused on ensuring all students develop their global competencies so they can transition into the future workforce with confidence and resilience.
As such, you will be required to demonstrate your previous success with:
- The design of programs and learning experiences that promote student engagement and contribute to a positive school culture,
- Engaging students in skill development through authentic learning experiences,
- Effective analysis of key data sets including attendance data, behaviour data and wellbeing data sets,
- Engaging with the wider school community to nurture quality positive relationships between students, parents, teachers and stakeholders across the school and wider community,
- Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the team to achieve goals.
