About the School:
A little over an hour from Brisbane, Kilcoy is surrounded by a scenic landscape of rolling hills and rugged mountain ranges with views over the northern reaches of Lake Somerset. About the Role:
The role of the Head of Department Digital Innovation is tasked with embracing ‘Equity and Excellence' for every student, focusing on engaging students through digital learning.
The digital learning program commenced in 2024 with the 1 to 1 provisioning of learning devices for three full cohorts. 2025 will see this provision extended across all year levels.
The successful applicant will be instrumental in the procurement and provisioning of devices, in 2025. The school also introduced a Virtual Reality learning space in 2024 that is growing and waiting for a passionate leader to continue and expand.
The ideal applicant will have a high level of knowledge and skill in leading teams to implement innovative technology and software in daily teaching and learning.
Responsibilities within this role include, but are not limited to;
- Source and model innovative digital teaching strategies and resources.
- Provide high quality advice and develop the digital capability of the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement engaging lessons.
- Develop staff capability to utilise digital platforms to organise learning and track student progress.
- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
