About the School
Yarrabah State School caters for an indigenous student population enrolled from Kinderegarten to year 10 across three separate campuses within the community of Yarrabah in Far North Queensland.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department (Curriculum), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Use school targets to lead discussions with K-10 leaders, teachers, staff, parents and students to drive improvement in student performance
- Curriculum planning meets all relevant criteria as per the Updated K-12 CARF
- Alignment of Whole School, Year & Band Plans, Unit Plans, assessment and marking guides
- Assessment tasks and marking guides aligned to Australian Curriculum
- Review, monitoring and provision of feedback on YSS Three Levels of Planning
- The full range of moderation processes are refined and implemented with fidelity
- A focus on pedagogy is incorporated into the moderation processes
- A focus on IEAL/D approaches is incorporated into the moderation processes
- The YSS Literacy Framework is implemented as documented in the four-year plan
About You

- Be futures oriented and strategic. Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
