About the School
Located 170km southwest of Rockhampton, Woorabinda is a close-knit community on the traditional lands of the Wadja and Ghungalu Aboriginal peoples. Our town offers essential services, including a hospital, sports complex, church, retail store and café, with sealed road access to Rockhampton and Baralaba, and all weather sealed airstrip on the outskirts of town.
Woorabinda State School is a kindergarten to Year Six school and our school motto is 'Proud and Deadly'. Our local traditional owners, elders, and community members are vital to our school, collaborating with staff to weave local history, family stories, and local languages into the curriculum. Our school is committed to the embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives (EATSIPs) agenda, fostering a deep connection to and respect for the rich cultural heritage of the region.
About the Role
As the Head of Department (Curriculum), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the delivery of Delivery of V9 Curriculum planning
- Support the Science and Culture program with expertise and strong organisation skills
- Provide Non Contact Time (NCT) and Teacher coverage on class if required
