About the Role:


The Head of Curriculum at Thursday Island Primary Campus plays a critical role in driving educational excellence by supporting the implementation of the College's Explicit Improvement Plan (EIP).

This role primarily focuses on enhancing teacher development and fostering collaborative teaching teams.

This role will work alongside the College Head of Department - Curriculum and the Head of Department - Teaching and Learning. This position will report to the Head of Campus - Thursday Island Primary Campus.

Key responsibilities include

  • Guiding educators in effectively enacting the College's Moderation System
  • Applying pedagogical approaches for Tagai's context, supporting teachers understanding with the Australian Curriculum, and ensuring that teaching and planning practices are consistent across all levels.
  • By working closely with teachers, the Head of Curriculum will be accountable for developing professional capabilities of teaching teams, ensuring that curriculum delivery meets the high standards of the college's systems and contributes to sustained student outcomes.

Additionally:
Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will need to demonstrate that they have strong curriculum knowledge and leadership qualities, have developed assessment and marking guides and have experience in application of the three levels of planning and moderation processes.
