Maryborough Special School's vision is to create a school that meets the learning needs of our students, all of whom have special needs. This is achieved by building students' confidence in their relationships with others, as well as by creating a safe, supportive, and tolerant environment that prepares them to be active and reflective citizens. We also strive to develop in our students the skills and desire for lifelong learning, supporting them to become active participants in community, economic, and political life. Our school is divided into four phases of learning: early years, middle years, senior years, and transition.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - Curriculum, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
