This is a temporary full-time position for the 2025 school year, commencing 23 January 2025 until 27 June 2025 with the possibility of extension.

About the School

We are a small country school catering for approximatley 60 students from Prep to Year 10, with 12 teaching staff.  

Our campus is located in the welcoming, rural environment of Injune, about 92 kilometres north of the regional centre of Roma in South West Queensland. 

About the Role

As the Head of Department (Curriculum) your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Implementation And Quality Assurance Of Curriculum Across P-10 Including Classroom Practice, Teaching, Learning And Assessment.
  • Support And Quality Assure Provisioning Of The Australian Curriculum, Year Level Plans And Unit Plans
  • Working With Multi-Age Cohorts
  • Mentoring And Providing Coaching And Feedback
  • An Understanding Of The Current CARF Aligned To V9 Within Our School Context
  • The Head of Department (Curriculum) together with the school principal, will be required to lead professional learning in all areas of the curriculum for early career and experienced teachers.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of P-10 curriculum
  • Ability to lead professional learning across a P-10 setting
  • Experience with structured synthetics phonics and reading across the curriculum
  • Ability to analysis data to inform student learning
  • Understanding of variety of pedagogical practices (especially Teach Like a Champion techniques)
