About our Schools:
Boulia is in the Central West of Queensland and is located approximately 296 kilometres by road south of Mount Isa. Dajarra State School is located within a small rural and remote community 155 kilometres South of Mount Isa. Dajarra State School caters for Kindy to Year 6, with two multi-age classrooms K-2 and 3-6. At Dajarra State School our school motto is "Where everyone is an achiever", together as a teaching staff and community we work together to ensure that every child is given the tools and skills that they need in order to achieve successful outcomes.
About the Role:
Focus Areas:
- Strong emphasis on Reading and the Australian Curriculum Version 9 (ACARA).
- Support and coach staff on implementing the Australian Curriculum in both schools, particularly focusing on the P-6 Curriculum Model.
- Provide expertise in State Delivered Kindy (SDK) education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the curriculum planning process for K-6 (Kindergarten to Year 6) across both schools, ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum Version 9.
- Deliver high-quality coaching and support for teachers and teacher aides, helping them improve instructional strategies, particularly in reading.
- Work with staff at both Boulia State School and Dajarra State School to ensure effective and aligned planning for curriculum delivery.
- Provide high-level coaching to educators to enhance teaching practices, particularly for reading and general curriculum delivery.
- Support the development of differentiated instruction strategies for a diverse range of students, including those in Kindy and primary school settings.
- Collaborate with staff from both schools to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices.
- Work with teams to develop and refine planning, ensuring that the curriculum is implemented effectively across both sites.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum Version 9, including its structure and implementation strategies.
- Expertise in reading instruction across primary school grades, with a particular focus on best practices and differentiated strategies.
- Knowledge and experience with State Delivered Kindy (SDK) programs and the P-6 Curriculum Model.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff across two schools, fostering a positive and productive partnership between BSS and DSS.
- Excellent skills in coaching, mentoring, and curriculum planning to enhance teaching and student outcomes.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks across both school sites.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a shared role with negotiated rostering arrangements.
