The opportunity
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher and innovative leader to fill a permanent full-time position, commencing Term 1 2021. The position has responsibility for the Creative Arts Department within the Secondary School.
The position includes a teaching load and a Head of Department time allowance and remuneration. The Department is also provided with administrative assistance.

About you
The successful candidate will be an energetic educator who is motivated by thinking differently about teaching and learning and who is driven by the creation of engaging and dynamic learning experiences for our students. Candidates must:
- Demonstrate extensive teaching experience and subject knowledge of Creative Arts including Visual Art, Media and Photography.
- Be an expert teaching practitioner
- Demonstrate strong leadership and team leading experience to provide instructional leadership within the subject area/s, particularly
- the quality of curriculum development and evaluation, and course review and writing
- the quality of assessment, testing and reporting
- high standards of student achievement
- development of appropriate teaching methodologies and high standards of teaching effectiveness for Department members
- Demonstrate a passion for both teaching and pursuing innovative thinking
- Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience
- Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills
- Participate in pastoral and co-curricular programs, including student wellbeing initiatives, school camps and excursions
- Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare
- Support Radford’s strategic priorities and goals
- Uphold Radford’s Values of Truth, Compassion and Wisdom
Qualifications
- Teaching qualification recognised by the ACT Department of Education
- Maintain registration as a teacher with the Teacher Quality Institute, including WWVP
- Current First Aid Certificate
