About Tagai State College - Kubin Village

Kubin Campus is one of the 16 Primary campuses that make up Tagai State College. These campuses are spread across 48,000 square kilometres of ocean in the Torres Strait. The College also has a Secondary campus and a TAFE campus located on Thursday Island. The current enrolment of Kubin Campus is approximately 26 students ranging in year levels from Kindergarten to Year 6. For most students, English is an additional language. Language and cultural activities play an integral part in the school curriculum.

Kubin Community is one of two communities on Moa Island. It is located on the south side of the Island, close to the island's only airstrip. Moa Island is the second largest island in the Torres Strait. Similar to surrounding islands, Moa is characterised by mounds of rock and is lightly vegetated and well-watered.

As the Head of Campus you will:

  • deliver the vision of the department;
  • improve the educational outcomes of students in their school;
  • develop the quality of teaching and learning;
  • nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.

The Head of Campus at Kubin is a teaching Head of Campus role. The suitable applicant must be able to demonstrate capability to meet the accountabilities of a quality teacher and has demonstrated leadership capability to lead a Campus.
