Yarrabilba State Secondary College provides students with a unique educational experience unlike any other Logan Secondary College. About the Role

As the Guidance Officer you will:

  • Provide support to students, teachers, and parents on educational, behavioural, career, mental health, and family issues.
  • Collaborate with parents, school staff, and external agencies to deliver comprehensive support and referrals, enhancing students' engagement in educational programs.
  • Identify and address learning and wellbeing barriers, offering specialist advice to stakeholders.
  • Lead and support responses to student protection issues, critical incidents, and emergencies.
  • Maintain ethical balance in handling privacy and confidentiality, ensuring compliance with policy and legal requirements for record-keeping and information sharing.

The ideal candidate will be efficient, effective, and familiar with the Department of Education systems and processes for inclusive education. Demonstrate sophisticated and adaptable counselling and interpersonal skills. Be able to provide high levels of support by working closely with staff, parents, students, and community groups.
