About this job

About the Department

The Department of Education are dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity. This starts with recruitment and selection. The methods of assessing suitability in the recruitment process may vary. This includes making reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and employee lifecycle.

About the School

Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC) is a state high school that specialises in supporting young people aged 15 to 18 (minimum Year 10) who have significant barriers to accessing mainstream education. QPSC delivers a 12 months senior transitions program with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, workplace skills and wellbeing.

Many of our students have experienced anxiety, depression, long-term disengagement from schooling, trauma, or homelessness. By developing a safe and supportive environment, these students are able to achieve their goals and purposefully move on to pathways in further education, training and employment.

Currently QPSC has seven campuses: Bracken Ridge, Bundamba, Coorparoo, Goodna, Mount Gravatt, Toowoomba and Townsville. Towards the end of 2024, we will be opening two new campuses in Metropolitan North and Mount Isa.
