About the School
Lowood State High School is a large rural Queensland school educating students from Year 7 through to Year 12. The school was established in 1983 and is located 32 km north-west of Ipswich. Our students' primary school experiences range from one teacher schools to large primary schools.
About the Role
As the Guidance Officer, your Case Management Guidance Officer responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement individual plans, programs, and procedures to assist students identified from your case load (approximately 30 students for each Case Management Guidance Officer)
- Collaboratively negotiate with teachers and stakeholders to develop and implement programs for students to support their personal, social and emotional, and educational needs
- Use a range of data, including NCCD data, that is informed by a broad range of data collection methods, inclusive of classroom observations
- Foster resilience and personal skills with students on your case load
- Balance the ethical issues of privacy and confidentiality for each student with the appropriateness of sharing information with others, and maintain a comprehensive and professional record keeping system that complies with policy and legal requirements of parental and legal access to official records
