About the Role

We are seeking a skilled individual who is passionate about supporting student wellbeing at our school. This position is part of Education Queensland's Student Wellbeing Package with a focus on providing counselling and case manage to students and small groups of students struggling with a range of wellbeing concerns. You'll provide crucial wellbeing services to students dealing with mild to moderate mental health concerns of short to mid-term timeframes and work with external organisations to seek greater support for our students as needed. You will collaborate with a dynamic school and regional support team and receive clinical and technical guidance from our regional wellbeing experts.

As the Guidance Officer your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Support a diverse caseload of students with varying mental health needs.
  • Work independently while contributing to a collaborative school support team.
  • Receive ongoing clinical support from the regional wellbeing team.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Thrive in a role with a varied caseload, particularly focusing on mild to moderate mental health concerns.
  • Bring experience in a similar role, with a background in working with students considered a strong advantage.
  • Are highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working both autonomously and as part of a team.
