St Margaret Mary's College, Hyde Park is seeking an experienced Groundsperson. This role is a full time, permanent position commencing as soon as practicable.

The Groundsperson contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the College by providing a high level of gardening care, maintenance and development of the facilities and transportation services for students. The Groundsperson will work within a team to provide resource management, a safe and pleasant environment for students and employees and create a physical environment that is conducive to learning and safe student movement.

As a requirement of this role you will be required to perform a Pre-Employment Medical.

To join this vibrant school community, you'll need

  • Possess a current HR Licence (with experience in driving Heavy Vehicles - as you will need to drive the College Bus on a "per-needs" basis).
  • Previous experience in a similar position - maintenance and grounds services
  • To be competent in the use and/or maintenance of equipment typically used in gardening, building maintenance and grounds services
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills with students, parents, teachers and school administrators
  • To be able to work independently and with others as a team member
  • Demonstrated ability to assess repairs quickly to enable maximum safety and to comply with Workplace Health and Safety legislation
  • A demonstrated positive approach towards maintaining a high standard of service
