About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Knowledge of chemical management in relation to grounds care. Attainment of AHCCHM304 - Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases. AHCCHM307 Transport & store chemicals.
  • Perform activities consistent with workplace, health and safety guidelines and procedures with regard to government facilities.
  • Maintenance and preparation of tennis/netball courts and surrounding amenities.
  • Liaise with contractors, P&C, Sub-Committee members & school staff.
  • Analyse requirements, identify solutions, plan and coordinate cost effective renewal projects, following documented methods and instructions.
  • Compliance with regulations, codes and specifications relevant to the role.
  • Provide advice to the Business Manager on facility operations and maintenance programs at Fursden Rd fields and cricket pitches, including the cricket pitch at the South Brisbane campus.
  • Participate in Workplace Health and Safety programs and committees and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment; rectify attention any safety hazards; manage equipment records.

This position works outside of normal school terms and holiday entitlements will be negotiated in line with operational requirements. Working weeks will be flexible in line with home games being played on Saturdays during the GPS seasons. Some after hours and on call work may be required.
