Are you looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant role? We are looking for proactive and empathetic individuals who are looking for a new opportunity for September. Whether you already have experience working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, experience working with individuals with SEN, or experience working with children or young people in some capacity, we would love to talk with you. A supportive and welcoming secondary school in Brent, North-West London are looking for graduate teaching assistants starting in September to support the staff and students. Graduate Teaching Assistant roles are available in multiple departments, and graduates of all disciplines are welcome to apply.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant your focus will be on guiding and working with students wtih Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as supporting the class as a whole. Your role will involve working within students within a specific department, within multiple different age groups/subject groups and with individual students on a intervention basis. A Graduate Teaching Assistant role would best suit someone who adapts easily and is proactive.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with children aged 11-16
  • Working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Providing one-on-one support to students
  • Supporting classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Helping to assess student progress and providing feedback
  • Requirements:

  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting students' learning
  • Experience working in a secondary school environment
  • A Bachelors degree (min lower second)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • An enhanced DBS on the Online Update Service, or be willing to get one
