At Carey, we pride ourselves on providing a curriculum tailored to the interests and abilities of each student.  Our Kew Junior School has approximately 650 students from ELC – Year 6 and offers a broad range of opportunities to support our students in their learning, wellbeing, creativity and confidence.

We are seeking a Graduate Teacher to commence in January 2021 at our Kew Junior School. The purpose of this role is to provide a recent graduate teacher with an opportunity to learn from and support classroom teachers in delivering a differentiated learning program to meed individual student needs. 

The successful candidate will be required to have strong mathematic skills and knowledge as the graduate teacher will teach extension mathematics to assigned groups of students supported by the Numeracy Coordinator. 

Junior School Teachers at Carey:

  • Provide a safe and healthy learning environment for all students
  • Provide regular and honest feedback to students
  • Communicate regularly with families to ensure they are informed of their child’s progress and the School’s activities
  • Liaise with specialist teachers and the Learning & Development department to provide the best support for each child
  • Work as active team members to foster a supportive and stimulating working and learning environment

A valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment for this position.
