Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Level 2/3 Qualified) Location: Preston Contract: Part-time or Full-time considered / Term-time only

Our vibrant and nurturing primary school in Preston is looking to appoint a motivated Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2. We are looking for a candidate who is committed to helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Main Duties:

  • Providing classroom support to ensure lessons run smoothly and pupils remain engaged.
  • Leading structured interventions and small-group activities to support literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum areas.
  • Offering one-to-one support for pupils who may need additional help or guidance.
  • Assisting with assessment by observing and recording pupil progress for teacher review.
  • Helping with setting up and clearing away learning materials and classroom equipment.
  • Contributing to the wider school community, including supervising pupils during transition times and supporting behaviour expectations.

    • Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience working within a primary school setting (desirable).
  • A caring, patient and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

    • The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • A warm, supportive and adaptable approach to working with young children.
  • The ability to use initiative and work collaboratively with teaching staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
