Are you also passionate about making a difference for future generations by imparting your knowledge to students and improving sustainability practices?  If so, we have an exciting opportunity waiting for you.

Fintona Girls’ School is seeking a new Gardener who will be responsible for nurturing and maintaining the School’s outdoor spaces, ensuring our immaculate gardens, lawns and landscaped areas continue to be presented to the highest of standards at all times.  The Gardener is also involved with the planning of garden landscaping and future displays.

As well as gardening duties, this role shares their gardening knowledge and assists in incorporating sustainability practices in all that we do.  As such, this role organises the student gardening club, is involved with the student sustainability and environment team and is a member of the School’s Sustainability Committee.

The successful applicant will possess knowledge and experience in general garden duties and the operation of electrical gardening equipment.  The ability to forward plan to ensure that gardens are well maintained and well-presented is also vital.  Clear communication skills and a flexible, courteous, friendly and helpful approach to team members, other staff, students and parents alike are essential. Horticultural qualifications, previous experience in a similar role and a Heavy Rigid Licence while not essential, will be advantageous.
