Notre Dame College is the newest addition to Brisbane Catholic Education’s network of schools. Opening its doors in 2025, our co-educational college is master-planned for 1836 students across all year levels. The Role: As our Teacher Librarian, you will play a pivotal role in creating a dynamic and engaging library space. Beyond being a repository of books, our library is a hub of exploration, curiosity, and collaboration.

You’ll have the opportunity to: 


  • Inspire Lifelong Learners: Encourage students to discover new worlds through literature, research, and critical thinking. Your passion for reading will ignite their imaginations.
  • Build a Reading Culture: Shape a community where books come alive. Organize book clubs, author visits, and interactive workshops that celebrate the joy of reading.
  • Empower Information Literacy: Equip students with essential skills to navigate the digital age. From evaluating sources to conducting research, you’ll guide them toward becoming informed global citizens.
  • Collaborate with Educators: Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate literacy skills into the curriculum. Your collaborative spirit will enhance learning experiences across subjects.

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as a Teacher librarian as well as:
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
  • Have a commitment to Safeguarding

About our school:
Notre Dame College is a new Brisbane Catholic Education College on the Sunshine Coast, proposed to open in 2025.

The College will provide a high-quality Catholic education for families in the Aura and Caloundra community for Prep to Year 12. Located in Aura Stockland, Bells Creek, the College will be co-educational and is master planned for 1,836 students when all stages of development are completed. The College is within the Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Caloundra and the College’s spirituality will be enlivened through the Marist charism.

Do I have to be Catholic?
If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
