Your Role
As the Finance Officer School Support, you will:
- Coordinate and assist with the provision of services and advice across a range of administrative and financial management functions.
- Support schools to improve their financial capability and compliance.
Report to the Manager, Financial Advisory Services, Metropolitan South Region based in the Mt Gravatt office.
Your Responsibilities
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and undertaking the following key tasks:
- Provide advice to school staff regarding financial management including accounts payable and receivable, asset accounting, banking, budgeting and reporting, financial policy and delegations, financial systems usage and taxation.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of school business priorities and service delivery objectives.
- Assist in analysis of the financial management practices and financial performance of schools, identification of system or policy issues, and monitor the level of financial management competencies within schools.
- Assist administration of team activity including supporting workshop delivery and tracking workplace activity
About you
Skills the successful applicant will possess include:
- Ability to interrogate OneSchool Finance.
- Ability to create financial models to assist interpretation and analysis (utilising Microsoft Excel, Power BI).
- High level communication skills, both written and oral.
- Exceptional coordination and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of financial management policies and legislation that impact schools.
