Your Role:

As an AO3 Facilities Supervisor, you will be based at Balmoral SHS and play a vital role in supervising and coordinating all facility-related operations. You will oversee maintenance, safety compliance, and general upkeep, managing contractors and support staff to ensure facilities meet departmental standards. Reporting to the Business Manager, you will collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver a safe and efficient environment for the school community.

The Facilities Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the effective management, safety and functionality of the school's buildings, grounds and associated operations. Reporting directly to the Business Manager, this position oversees all aspects of facilities management, including liaising with external contractors, scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and security requirements. The role involves implementing and monitoring processes for the issue of school keys, managing Work Area Access Permits (WAAP) for contractors, and supporting capital works and the coordination of minor projects. The Facilities Supervisor also oversees facility hire operations, including liaising with hirers and preparing hire agreements for approval.

Additional responsibilities include supervising cleaning operations, reviewing cleaning areas and staff performance and prioritising and scheduling work to meet agreed service standards. The Facilities Supervisor assists in identifying maintenance requirements in line with Maintenance Assessment Reports and school needs, while also supporting the Business Manager in the day-to-day supervision of grounds and cleaning staff. The position contributes to the smooth operation of the school by providing administrative support, assisting with uniform operations through stock control, cost analysis and supplier liaison, and participating in process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake the day-to-day supervision and management of school support staff.
  • Operate autonomously in the provision of business services.
  • Co-ordinate the creation and maintenance of procedures and documentation relating to network support and services.
