About the Role:
The Facilities Officer is responsible for providing leadership and support to the Business Manager with an emphasis on facilities management.
The position directly leads and supervises the facilities team and cleaning team within the school. Liaising with facilities stakeholders including but not limited to, contractors, regional teams and external community members.
Working with the Business Manager, the Facilities Manager leads the day-to-day facilities activities of the school to ensure compliance with legislation and audit requirements.
The role will include finance, human resources, asset management and workplace health and safety aspects all from a facilities focus.
Including but not limited to:
- Sourcing quotes for facility and project management.
- Managing Facilities Budget.
- Line manage - Schools Officers, Cleaning staff, AO2 Facilities Support including co-ordination and management of regular meetings.
- Organising, undertaking and coordinating the recruitment, induction and training of school cleaning and grounds staff.
- Manage annual stocktake.
- Managing the Hire of Facilities to User Groups and sourcing new hirers.
- Maintaining and monitoring facility and grounds maintenance activities including determining; minor and capital works priorities, repair schedules, and engaging external contractors.
- Coordination of Fire and Evacuation, Lockdown drills and maintaining the MyHR WH&S register.
- Manage and conduct 2 meetings per term for WH&S ensuring that minutes are entered in the MyHR WH&S module.
- Oversee Chemical Management Plan.
- Health and Safety Advisor.
- Ensuring mandatory inspections are conducted as per regulations including electrical test and tagging, fire detection and alarm systems, emergency lighting.
This Temporary Full-time position until 19 September 2025 unless otherwise determined. Interviews will commence in Term 1, Week 1, 2025.
