Mt Maria College, North Brisbane’s first Catholic Co-Educational College, was established in 1978. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Facilities Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our College's infrastructure, ensuring our facilities meet the growing needs of our school community.
The Facilities Manager will oversee the strategic planning, development, and day-to-day management of our College’s physical assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Development: Collaborate with the Leadership team to design and implement enhancements to campus facilities, promote sustainability, and manage complex projects from planning through execution.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all facilities adhere to safety standards, conducting regular inspections and addressing hazards promptly. Implementation of the College annual WHS plan, ensuring all facilities adhere to safety standards, conducting regular inspections and addressing hazards promptly.
- Budget : Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and safety.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support the Grounds and Maintenance team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Manage and monitor external contractors and workmanship.
- Emergency Response: Be on call for after-hours emergency situations as needed.
About You:
We are looking for a motivated leader with experience in Facilities Management, Asset Management, and WH&S. The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in managing complex projects from start to finish, with a focus on sustainability and operational improvement. Additionally, candidates will have demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks to achieve both project and operational outcomes. Candidates should also have a strong knowledge of building, equipment and vehicle maintenance, asset renewal, repair techniques, and safety regulations. IT skills in conjunction with knowledge of systems including Telecommunications systems, public address and Security/CCTV equipment.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in property or facilities management, ideally within an educational or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance, repair techniques, and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate with contractors.
- Excellent organisational, time-management, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and sustain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in preparing high-level correspondence and documentation on various property management issues.
Qualifications & Certifications:
Relevant qualifications in facilities or property management.
- Current First Aid certification (or ability to acquire)
- Working With Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
- A valid Australian driver’s license.
