EYFS SEMH Teaching AssistantLocation: West LondonStart Date: ASAP Pay: £107-120 per day

Veritas Education is currently recruiting dedicated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants for a specialist school in West London, supporting children in EYFS with social, emotional and mental health needs. These are full-time positions, Monday to Friday, with immediate starts available.

We are looking for candidates with previous experience supporting children in an EYFS or early years setting, with experience supporting children with SEMH or additional needs. You'll create a safe, nurturing environment where children can build confidence, develop positive relationships and enjoy learning.

Responsibilities of EYFS SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children with SEMH and additional needs.

  • Support children's emotional, social and educational development.

  • Encourage positive engagement through play-based and age-appropriate activities.

  • Help children develop confidence, independence and positive social skills.

  • Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

  • Work closely with teachers and wider school staff to support individual needs.

    • Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an EYFS or early years setting.

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH, additional needs or challenging behaviour is highly desirable.

  • Patient, empathetic and nurturing approach.

  • Resilient and consistent when supporting children with complex needs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Enthusiastic, proactive and committed to supporting children's development.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Relevant Early Years, Education, Psychology or SEN qualifications/training are highly desirable.
