About the Role

As the Executive Assistant - Compliance & Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW), you will contribute to the effective and efficient management and administration of the school by providing a high level of confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Principal/Senior Executive Team. Under the direction of the principal, this role will provide strategic advice and assistance in compliance and the health safety and wellbeing of school activities and operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the delivery of documentation presented to the executive leadership team (Principal/ Deputy Principal), schedule appointments, coordinate and organise meetings, conferences, professional development for staff, room bookings and functions, maintain diaries, take minutes of meetings and distribute to attendees and manage the provision of administrative and secretarial support to conferences as required.
  • Monitor and screen incoming telephone calls, correspondence and visitors to the office and where necessary direct these to the appropriate areas.
  • Develop and implement procedures and processes for health, safety and wellbeing, including risk assessments; coordinate and ensure ongoing compliance with the schools Health Safety and Wellbeing Program.
  • Support the Principal to maintain and update the Emergency Response Plan. Review and maintain the emergency response plan, including the development and maintenance of processes to practice and record emergency responses through department systems.
  • Develop and review systems and processes under the direction of the Principal/Business Manager, to ensure compliance to systems of governance. Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.

About You

  • This role requires a person who values attention to detail, has exceptional communication and time management skills
  • In this role it will be necessary, on behalf of the principal, to liaise with government, business, industry, parent and education bodies, therefore a focus on a high level of client services is essential
  • Previous experience in health, safety and wellbeing and knowledge of policy and procedure is highly desired.
