About the Role:
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive and skilled in supporting students with diverse learning, communication and behavioural needs within a secondary school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised, one-to-one support for an autistic student to assist with engagement, regulation, learning and participation in school routines.
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour support strategies and adjustments.
- Assist the student to develop social, communication, emotional regulation and independent learning skills.
- Support student safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour, including the use of agreed de-escalation strategies where required.
- Provide additional student with disability support for other students, including in classrooms, small groups or learning support settings.
- Assist teachers with classroom preparation, learning activities and the supervision of students.
- Maintain appropriate records and communicate effectively with teachers, support staff and the Inclusive Learning team.
- Uphold confidentiality, professional boundaries and departmental policies at all times.
