This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.
This Expression of Interest is available from 23 January 2025 to 27 June 2025, unless otherwise determined.
The consent and respectful relationships education capability project will contribute to system and school staff capability to:
- Deliver consent and respectful relationship education aligned to school improvement priorities and performance planning
- Plan and deliver effective and differentiated pedagogical approaches appropriate to consent and respectful relationships education aligned to the Australian Curriculum v9, particularly the health and physical education curriculum
- Communicate with parents and the wider school community, including building support for schools' chosen approaches to implement consent and respectful relationships education.
Areas of focus for this project include:
- Designing, delivering and monitoring strategies to help school leaders plan and implement effective consent and respectful relationships education in schools. This includes facilitating change and providing training and support for system and school leaders, teachers and other school staff, both in-person and online, in groups and individually, to ensure effective school-wide implementation of consent and respectful relationships education
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide professional development, guidance and support to school leaders and teachers on respectful relationships education delivery aligned to statewide frameworks, procedures and processes, and the required curriculum for all students
- Supporting school-based processes for ensuring and maintaining psychological safety for school staff and students
The SEOC-CRRE positions report to the Director of Capability in each region.
Successfully appointed SEOC-CRRE positions may be deployed to locations around the state in line with their identified preferences. Travel to different locations will be required as part of this role.
Mandatory Requirements:
- You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.
- Employees' engaged temporarily as Education Officer - Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 5.12 of the Department of Education State School Teachers' Certified Agreement 2022
