About the Role
As the Head of Special Education Services, you will play a pivotal role in promoting inclusive practices and ensuring equity and excellence for students with disability. Reporting to the Principal, you will lead and manage the Special Education Program to support students, staff, and the broader school community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and coordinating high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program.
- Leading and supporting classroom teachers to develop and implement effective adjustments for students with disability.
- Providing intensive targeted teaching and case management for students requiring substantial adjustments.
- Implementing school-wide systems to monitor and support students with disability.
- Building partnerships with parents, government agencies, and community groups to enhance student outcomes.
This role would suit a passionate educator with strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering inclusive education practices.
About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
- Experience in managing and coordinating special education programs.
- Strong knowledge of legislation and policies related to disability and inclusive education.
- Ability to provide high-quality advice and support to staff and leadership teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing data systems to monitor student progress.
