Geebung State School is a growing suburban school located in Brisbane North. The school contains approximately 440 students and caters for students from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds.
We focus on academic success and wellbeing to maximise outcomes for all students. The school has a strong focus on visible learning, differentiated curriculum, positive behaviour for learning and wellbeing for our whole community. The school utilises an inclusive multi-disciplinary approach to student case management.
About the Role
As the HOD - Curriculum you will:
- Implement version 9 of the Australian Curriculum through collaborative planning and modelling.
- Support the Principal leading Reading implementation through the Australian Curriculum.
- Lead the pedagogy development of teachers and teacher aides at Geebung with a key focus on visible learning, explicit instruction and high yield strategies.
- Lead and coordinate the coaching and mentoring of teachers and teacher aides, developing collegiality, building a learning and development culture.
- Lead the development, implementation and review of teaching and learning strategies in targeted programs eg synthetic phonics.
- Assume a lead role within the school leadership team with the development and implementation of strategies relating to AIP targets.
The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum, strong understanding of interpersonal and capability building skills.
