Tropical North Learning Academy - Trinity Beach State School is located on the northern beaches of Cairns. About the Role:

The Deputy Principal - Building Foundations Curriculum, Teaching and Learning (Years 3-6) provides instructional leadership and line management for teachers across Years 3-6, fostering high-quality teaching practices and building staff capability to improve student outcomes. The role maintains a strong focus on student learning and engagement to improve achievement for all students through evidence-informed teaching practices, curriculum leadership and targeted capability development. Working in partnership with the Head of Department - Curriculum, the Deputy Principal leads the planning and implementation of the Australian Curriculum through Professional Learning Team (PLT) processes and promotes a consistent, high-quality approach to teaching and learning across Years 3-6.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Coaching and developing teacher capability through feedback, mentoring and instructional leadership;
  • Leading curriculum implementation, moderation and data-informed practices to monitor student progress and drive continuous improvement;
  • Overseeing the transition to secondary school; coordinating the school's involvement in Tropical North Learning Academy Partnership academies;
  • Providing leadership for BYoX and QLearn platforms.

The role also leads key school events that strengthen community engagement, celebrate student achievement and foster positive partnerships with families and the wider community.
