Kowanyama State School is a Kindy - Year 10 remote indigenous community school on the Gulf of Carpentaria in Far North Queensland. About the Opportunity

Reporting to the school Principal, as a Deputy Principal you will directly contribute to the continuous improvement in educational outcomes for school students at Kowanyama SS. You will work with the Principal to successfully implement Departmental priorities in curriculum, and teaching and learning.

About the Role

As the Deputy Principal you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
