Your role
Responsibilities include:
- Utilise advanced communication and interpersonal skills in discussion with clients, stakeholders while maintaining discretion and confidentiality in relation to the issues discussed.
- Coordinate and manage correspondence while ensuring detailed records of correspondence and actions are maintained.
- Develop, maintain sustain successful partnerships by working with the department to coordinate responses, address issues and assist in implementing process improvements.
- Ensure a thorough meticulous level of attention to detail in proofreading and editing Ministerial and departmental correspondence and briefing material.
- Assist in preparing high-quality documentation for each enquiry/complaint to ensure detailed records of discussions and actions are maintained.
- Collaborate with the Senior Policy Officers to manage enquiries/complaints.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of government service delivery initiatives and major policy issues relevant to education in order to effectively manage enquiries and complaints.
- Communicate between the Minister's Office and the department in relation to correspondence matters.
- Ensure that the Ministerial and Executive Services Unit's management is promptly informed of any contentious issues including those arising from clients' enquiries and complaints.
- Liaise with the Office of the Director-General and other departments to guide and coordinate responses ensuring a whole-of-government focus.
- Maintain an effective and efficient work flow between the Office of the Director-General and the department, by forward planning on known events and prioritising and assisting in efficient dealing with correspondence and subsequent approvals.
- Contribute to the review, development and evaluation of systems and procedures for improving the work practices within the Ministerial and Executive Services Unit.
