Catholic Schools Broken Bay supports the work of school principals and staff, parents and Parish priests in providing quality education to students from Kindergarten to Year 12 living in the northern suburbs of Sydney and the Central Coast of New South Wales.

Specific Criteria

 

  • Supportive of the Catholic Ethos of the Diocese of Broken Bay
  • Highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner
  • Coordinate enrolment enquiries and waitlists
  • Lead the EOCS Enrolment Panel team to determine best class placement for students
  • Coordinate the enrolment transition planning between school and pre-school settings
  • Support the development, implementation and assessment of the transition plan for each student changing settings, including behaviour and personal care support plans
  • Ensure timely, professional and helpful information and support to prospective students and families throughout the enrolment process
  • Collaborate with EOCS teachers and external health and wellbeing service providers to ensure students are engaged in learning with successful outcomes
  • Facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive behaviour for learning
  • Apply contemporary approaches to professional learning to develop teacher knowledge of students and how they learn and develop the professional practices of teachers
  • Ensure a Duty of Care towards, engage professionally with, and provide a safe and supportive environment for, the students entrusted to our care
  • Fulfil all legal, policy and reporting obligations when working with Children as required

Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4-year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four-year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.

Qualifications and Accreditations

  • Practising Catholic and/or can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement
  • NESA accredited as Proficient.
  • Accredited to be a teacher of Religious Education or in the process of completing RE accreditation (applicable for Primary teachers)
  • Valid Working with Children Check 
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence (and own car required)
