Veritas Education are seeking a dedicated and inspirational English Teacher to join one of our welcoming secondary schools in the Kirklees area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate practitioner looking to make a real impact on pupils' progress within a supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students to develop strong literacy skills and a love for the subject. You will join a committed department with strong leadership and access to excellent teaching resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver well-structured English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress in accordance with school and DfE standards.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of learners of varying abilities.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, meetings, and wider school life.

    • Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • A proactive, professional, and student-focused approach.
