Veritas Education is working with a highly regarded and oversubscribed co-educational secondary school in Twickenham to recruit an enthusiastic Graduate English Teaching Assistant.

The role is particularly well suited to graduates considering a future career in English teaching, educational psychology, SEN, or pastoral care.
Working across Key Stages 3 and 4, you will support students in developing their literacy, reading comprehension, written communication, and confidence in English.
About the Role
As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the English Department and SEN team to support students both in and out of the classroom. You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, engage with the curriculum, and achieve their full potential.

Provide one-to-one and small-group intervention support in EnglishSupport students with reading, writing, and literacy development across KS3 and KS4Assist teachers during English lessons and help deliver engaging learning activitiesSupport pupils with SEND and additional learning needs within the classroomHelp monitor student progress and contribute to feedback and assessment activitiesEncourage student engagement, confidence, and positive attitudes towards learningAssist with literacy initiatives, reading programmes, and extracurricular activities where appropriateWhat We're Looking For
A degree in English, English Literature, Creative Writing, or a related subjectExperience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essentialA genuine passion for English and educationStrong written and verbal communication skillsA proactive, patient, and adaptable approachThe ability to build positive relationships with students and staffWhat Veritas Education Offers
