About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting routine truancy checks around the school, maintaining a database to track truancy patterns for follow-up, and issuing lunchtime detentions for students with consistent absenteeism;
  • Liaise with Attendance Officer, Case Manager or other support officer and review OneSchool Profile to gather individual student information;
  • Facilitating restorative processes to address barriers with students or staff and developing personalised Engagement Plans for students, identifying both short-term and long-term goals to improve classroom attendance and learning outcomes;
  • Liase with parents/caregivers for identified students, including discussion of goals and progress;
  • Refering students to other support services within the school;
  • Assit in other areas of the behaviour/engagement team as required.

About You

  • The ideal candidate for the School Engagement Officer role will have strong interpersonal skills are essential to create meaningful connections with students, families, and staff, fostering a supportive school environment. They will have a keen eye for detail in tracking and reporting attendance data accurately.
  • Effective time management skills are crucial to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines while balancing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced school setting.
  • Experience working within school specific programs such as OneSchool and ID attend is highly desirable.
