Job Overview

We are recruiting a dedicated and motivated Employability Officer/Tutor to support young people across construction-focused employability programmes in Bolton, Bury, and Manchester.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting approximately 30 young people, helping them develop employability skills, access work experience opportunities, and progress towards their future careers within the construction industry.

This is a varied role combining employability teaching, learner support, recruitment, administration, attendance monitoring, and employer engagement. You will act as the main point of contact for learners throughout their programme, ensuring they receive the guidance and support needed to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and supportive employability lessons to young people
  • Recruit young people onto construction-focused employability programmes
  • Complete all learner paperwork and documentation accurately and within required timescales
  • Act as the main point of contact for approximately 30 learners
  • Provide ongoing guidance, encouragement, and pastoral support to learners
  • Work with employers to identify and secure suitable work experience placements
  • Coordinate work experience opportunities and ensure appropriate arrangements are in place
  • Monitor and manage learner attendance
  • Track learner engagement, progress, and outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of learner activities and achievements
  • Support learners in developing their employability skills and preparing for employment
  • Build positive relationships with learners, employers, and other stakeholders
  • Work across different locations throughout the Greater Manchester area
  • Contribute to the successful delivery and development of employability programmes

    • Requirements

  • Previous experience working with young people - essential
  • Experience recruiting young people onto training, employability, or education programmes
  • Experience delivering employability training, lessons, or workshops
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail when completing paperwork and maintaining records
  • Experience coordinating or arranging work experience placements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive and supportive relationships with young people
  • Ability to monitor attendance, engagement, and learner progress
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • A proactive, flexible, and solution-focused approach
  • Full driving licence and access to a car, with willingness to travel across Greater Manchester
