  • Commencing from $129,664 - $144,062 + Super + km allowance
  • Full time continuing| Commencing January 2025| Hybrid flexible working arrangements
  • 2 x role available to cover a set cluster of schools across the diocese.


About the role:

This role is an exciting opportunity to support student wellbeing by providing specialist mental health, emotional and social wellbeing knowledge and skills in a multidisciplinary team aimed at enhancing student outcomes as Education Officer – Student Wellbeing. In this role, you will support schools and Guidance Counsellors in the achievement of student wellbeing goals to enrich student engagement and learning. In this full time role, you will provide leadership and support in student and staff wellbeing, positive behaviour support, pastoral care and critical incident response.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong psychoeducational assessment background and be able deliver specialist training and advice in assessment. Through collaboration with school communities and BCE Office staff, you will deliver quality professional learning, assisted problem solving in complex situations and education in evidence-based strategies

You will work face-to-face across a cluster of schools and travel to the schools within your allocated cluster will be required. You must have a current drivers licence to allow you to travel between schools and a km allowance or vehicle maybe available based on amount of travel required. Office location is negotiable at interview, however applicants are expected to work across multiple offices and school locations.


Your key responsibilities:

  • Provide professional supervision and support of the guidance and counselling service in schools to ensure high standards of practice and quality service delivery
  • Provide proactive services to schools, teachers and specialist staff to support student wellbeing and pastoral care
  • Provide leadership and supervision in maintaining best practice of relevant assessment and reporting that facilitates positive outcomes for students
  • Provide expertise, service and care to schools in response to incidents which impact upon the wellbeing of the school community
  • Maintain and develop professional knowledge, practices and relationships


To be successful in this role you will:

  • Registration with QCT and/or the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to travel to schools (own vehicle require)
  • Supervisory accreditation and experience
  • Experience in resource development, production and review
  • Experience implementing policy and strategic direction
  • Experience providing professional advice and support
  • Data analysis skills
  • Leadership skills
