About the Role
Situated within the Faith Formation and Religious Education team, the Education Officer: Formation & Religious Education (Primary) supports the implementation of the Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst Faith Formation Framework and the design and delivery of quality learning and quality teaching practices.
As the new Education Officer, you will:
- Actively promote the Vision and Mission of Catholic education in the Diocese
- Facilitate collaboration in relation to the complementary roles of Pastors, parent, teachers and the diocesan Ministry Team in the ministry of Catholic education
- Design and develop teaching and learning Religious Education programs
- Collaborate with the Head of Faith Formation and Religious Education on opportunities for faith formation development
- Coordinate and facilitate forum for spiritual formation (eg workshops, retreats and other programs)
- Support the Youth Ministry and formation
- Be expected to undertake regular travel with overnight stays
About you
We are looking for someone who meets the following selection criteria:
- Commitment and capacity to support the values and ethos of the Catholic tradition in the workplace
- A background in Primary Catholic school education with demonstrated success as a classroom practitioner
- Experience in Religious Leadership in Catholic Schools including staff mentoring, supervision and leading liturgical events
- Ability to support teachers to improve Religious Education teaching and learning
- Relevant teaching or pastoral experience with practice in developing and implementing faith formation materials, particularly to adults
- Strong communicator with effective negotiation and influencing skills. Ability to tailor communication and course content for relevant audience
- Demonstrated capacity to self-manage workload, display initiative and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Holds appropriate post graduate qualifications and working with children check
- Meet the requirements of (Category E) in the Accreditation Policy to Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Bathurst Diocese.
