Veritas Education are working with several SEN Special and Complex needs schools within the Leeds area who are looking to recruit Edu-Care support assistants. These specialists' schools support a variety of children with complex needs and abilities, from learning needs to medical/physical disabilities too.

The schools require someone who is committed, passionate and experienced when it comes to supporting children and young adults with special and complex needs. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of supporting individuals with complex needs, but more importantly when providing a high standard of personal care and assisting with medical support.

The Role:

The role is best described as a part classroom and personal care support across the school. The candidate will be working across all classes throughout the school, from the early years age groups to the post 16 room (Up to 19 years old). The role requires someone to be flexible and adaptable when working across different needs, care, and age groups, and comfortable providing personal/hygiene care for all age groups.

  • Part Care Assistant/Part classroom support
  • Personal and Intimate Care requirements for all age groups
  • Supporting severe and complex needs in a care/classroom setting
  • Confident supporting children and young adult age groups

    • Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS check (We can advise on this)
  • Previous Care/Support Worker/Complex Needs Support experience
  • Confident in Personal and Intimate Care
  • Moving and Handling/Care based Qualifications - Certificate Proof Needed (This would be preferred but not essential as schools can provide training!)
