About Gympie West State School
Gympie West has been around for over 50 years and has grown into Gympie's largest primary school. We currently cater for around 540 Prep to Year 6 students.
Other important features include:
- A highly regarded Special Education Program catering for children diagnosed with intellectual, autistic, speech, hearing, visual and/or physical impairments
- An Early Childhood Developmental Centre catering for 0-5 year olds with early developmental needs
- A Responsible Thinking Program that aims to gradually develop each child's ability to accept responsibility for their behaviour
- A variety of extracurricular offerings ranging from musical programs to sporting opportunities to extension and technology programs
- A unique relationship with the Ex-Prisoners of War Association, who have traditionally been involved in our special ANZAC Day ceremonies, and who support our annual Lecturette Competition.
About the Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify barriers to young children achieving outcomes and enable referral to appropriate support services.
- Maintain records of family contact on a daily basis.
- Support families to achieve early development, health and learning outcomes.
- Develop and monitor post program support as required to meet program performance criteria.
- Develop and foster relationships between the school, community and families.
