About the School:
Gympie West has been around for over 50 years and has grown into Gympie's largest primary school. We pride ourselves on our highly regarded Special Education Program catering for children diagnosed with intellectual, autistic, speech, hearing, visual and/or physical impairments; an Early Childhood Developmental Centre catering for 0-5 year olds with early developmental needs, a Responsible Thinking Program that aims to gradually develop each child's ability to accept responsibility for their behaviour, a unique relationship with the Ex-Prisoners of War Association, who have traditionally been involved in our special ANZAC Day ceremonies, and who support our annual Lecturette Competition.
About the Role:
Your opportunity as the Early Years Support Co-ordinator, you will:
- Participate in the development and delivery of the KindyLinQ program to enhance early childhood development and learning opportunities for children in priority communities.
- Provide support to families to enhance parent/caregiver confidence and capability and maximise their children's participation and engagement with early childhood services, including kindergarten.
- Build and maintain community engagement, connections and partnerships with local early childhood services and community agencies that can assist in supporting child and family wellbeing, provide timely wrap around services, and facilitate successful transitions to Kindy and school.
- The Early Years Support Coordinator reports to the Principal, or their nominated delegate.
This position is a part time role of 21.75hours per fortnight, or 0.3FTE.
