About Mother Teresa Early Learning Centre 

Mother Teresa School caters for students from four years of age, where students are enrolled in our Early Learning Centre, to students in Year Six. Our school motto “do small things with great love” inspires us to care for fellow members of our school community as well as reach out into the wider community.  

About the Role 

As a Classroom Teacher in the Early Learning Centre, you'll be a key player in shaping the foundational years of a child's education. You’ll create a nurturing, stimulating environment where young learners can explore, play, and grow while developing essential social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Through creative activities, hands-on learning, and individual support, you'll help children build confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning. If you’re passionate about working with young children and want to make a lasting impact during their most formative years, this role offers a deeply rewarding opportunity to be part of their early educational journey.

This appointment is temporary to replace an employee who is on leave or secondment.

Qualifications  

  • Approved university teaching qualification.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) registrations.
  • Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation and NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.

Selection Criteria 

  1. Excellent pedagogical skills to deliver play-based preschool program that is inclusive, based on recorded observations, analysis of learning and the developmental needs of children.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary Early Childhood theory and practice, including STEAM.
  3. Demonstrated ability to document, monitor and assess child learning and use this data to inform educational programs and practices.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the capacity to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, families and the broader community.
  5. Thorough knowledge of the National Quality Standards, Quality Improvement Plans and the Early Years Learning Framework and how they influence the learning and teaching program.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development to continually improve teaching practice and learning outcomes.
  7. Knowledge of the National Quality Standards and a commitment to contribute to Quality Improvement Plan.
  8. Knowledge of legal, employment and child protection policies.

  • You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position. 
  • Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.
