Clairvaux MacKillop College is seeking a new Drum Tutor to join our vibrant co-curricular music program in a casual role (six months initially with the potential to extend) to begin at the commencement of the 2025 school year.
This role also includes directing two contemporary ensembles, as well as the College Drumline. These ensembles are in the development phase, so the applicant needs to be able to work with beginning ensembles and help them to develop their musicianship and skills.
Applicants should have experience in drum kit performance and tuition in a range of styles such as rock, pop and jazz and be comfortable with preparing students for formal examinations through AMEB, Trinity College etc if required.
The position provides for approximately two days of lessons at the moment, with students ranging from beginners to advanced.
Applicants require a current QLD Blue Card –Working with Children and must complete the Student Protection training for working in schools before commencement.
To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:
- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
