Following the retirement of Mr Nick Thornton, after eighteen years of outstanding service, the Director of Human Resources (People and Culture) is a newly shaped role, and a member of the School’s Executive Team. This position is responsible for leading and advising the school in all contemporary aspects of employment, staff development, performance management, employee relations and industrial relations.

The Director of Human Resources (People and Culture) is responsible for formulating and implementing the HR strategies and operations to ensure that the School attracts and retains high calibre staff and an aligned and engaged workforce.

The successful candidate will:

  • develop and implement a contemporary HR strategic plan in line with the School’s Strategic plan;
  • work pro-actively with all staff to develop a positive organisational culture aligned to the School values;
  • collaborate with the executive team on the delivery of professional learning and development of all staff;
  • lead best practice in the areas of employee relations and wellbeing;
  • communicate with warmth and transparency, placing respectful relationships at the core of stakeholder engagements;
  • provide coaching, support and direction to all members of the Human Resources team.

Commencing in January 2025 (or shortly thereafter upon negotiation), this role is offered as a 5-year contract. The successful candidate must be registered as an accredited Human Resources professional in Australia.
